Pieces are typical Shatranj type with also interesting pieces that combines moves, for example ...
The 'Lightning Warmachine', moves twice as a dabbabah or wazir. It slides 1 or jumps 2 squares orthogonally, then may do either again. It also can move 1, 2, 3 or 4 squares. It must move in a straight line.
The 'Oliphant', moves twice as an alfil or ferz. It slides 1 or jumps 2 squares diagonally, and then may do either again. Thus it may move 1, 2, 3, or 4 squares. It must move in a straight line.
Rules
Rules are normal, checkmate and reduce enemy to lone King wins. PLEASE NOTE There are two zrf's in this release. 'Grand Shatranj' plays with pawns having no double-step option and promote on final two ranks to a captured piece only. 'Grand Shatranj-a' plays with pawns having double-step option and promote on final two ranks to a captured piece only.Download Instructions
Instructions on downloading this Zillions file:

- Extract the contents of the .zip file to your Zillions of Games folder
- Be sure you have the "Use folder names" checkbox checked when you extract the files.
