Heavy Gravity Chess
This page contains one or more presets for playing a game online with Game Courier, an online server for playing Chess variants by correspondence.
Heavy Gravity has caused Queens, Bishops, and Rooks to hobble along at no more than 4 squares per turn. Knights can't jump. And Kings strain to move 1 space diagaonally and have lost all orthoganal movement [including the ability to castle]. Pawns look normal - but, no... there is no initial two step move.
Remember... because of the 4 move range limit, and the Knight-no-jump aspect... the Ferz-like King may look like he is in check (from FIDE perspective)... but he might not be due to Heavy Gravity.
Note: Standard pieces have been excluded from the pre-set to remind players of the heavy gravity limitations.
