In an effort to both preserve (in my humble opinion) a wonderful book on chess variants, and bring some new interactions among variant enthusiasts, old and new, I present...

A digital version of:

'Meta-chess: Adventures Beyond the Bounds of Chess' by John William Brown

With the generosity of Joseph DiMuro in graciously providing me a physical copy of the book, I have scanned and edited every page into PDF format.

At present, the PDF is fairly bare-bones, as there is no text search available or bookmarks include, but if this digital book is well received, I will most certain update it with those additions. There are also a few pages missing (they were not lost; the physical copy unfortunately lacked those pages from when it was printed), but if anyone with their own copies of the pages, or has information on where they may be found, the digital copy contains info on how they may be shared.

After discovering that 'Meta-chess' was no longer available for purchase, I went on a search for those who had there own copies who would be willing to part with them, and subsequently, the task of digitizing the book. I did this with the intent of  wishing to preserve the book in a format that would be easier for others to come across, and because I'm sure that Mr. John Brown would also wish this work to be available to others, as well. No copyright infringment is intended in any way, shaped or form with this project of mine. My only contribution is to the digitizing and 'cleaning up' of the pages (cleaning up meant literally. removing smugges and staines found on any pages after scanning).

Do spread the word around to those you know know in real life and on the interwebs. I like chess and its variants. I just want others to enjoy themselves in this little hobby of mine, both new players and old pros, alike. And of course, do enjoy the book.

A brief summary of the book can be found here. Reviews of the book can be found here and here.
