I believe that some games can work better with weaker pieces: Chessgi,
Mortal Chessgi, Crazyhouse, Hostage, Marsellais, etc. There are other
games which can work better with stronger pieces, and here I´ll mention
some large board variants. I have not made a test, but it is also possible
that some hexagonal games work better with the addition of power. How about
a Glinsky-like game without Knights, but with Marshalls/Cardinals?. Or
perhaps other pieces, but more powerful than the Knights or Bishops...?.
