Interesting to see so much reference to the Frog, Toad, and Newt. The Frog is a piece that I have at times used in variants myself. It has a presence as a creature of the marshlands here, here, here, and here. My Trebucheté Chaturanga variants use both Frog and Newt, although the latter piece appeared under a different name until I heard of Newt and decided to use it.

Does anyone know of any name for any other amphibian compounds (e.g. 3:0 and 3:1, 3:0 and 4:0, 3:0 and 4:2, 3:0 and 4:4, 2:0 and 5:0)? It has been remarked that the combined 3:3 and 5:5 leaper has the Bishop's binding, the combined 3:3 and 15:0 the Tripper's, and the combined 5:5 and 15:0 the Quitter's, but the piece combining all three is unbound. Well cubic boards have a far less unwieldy such piece. The combined 2:0:0 and 3:3:0 leaper has the Bishop's binding, the combined 2:0:0 and 3:3:3 one the Unicorn's, and the combined 3:3:0 and 3:3:3 one the Trebuchet's (my use of this name is to distinguish from the full Threeleaper on cubic boards, which can also make the unbound 2:2:1 Ninja leap) - but the compound of all three is unbound.
