Banning someone is not something I do lightly. I have given George Duke many chances to straighten up, and given his continued failure to do so, banning seems to be the best option. For those of you who don't pay much attention to the comments, the problem with George Duke is that he is a troll. Trolls are noted for trying to stir up trouble with comments that bait or provoke people. In this thread, George made various false statements that were designed to get a reaction from me. When I calmly refuted his first false statement here, he made up some B.S. about me having problems with literalism, and he tried to claim that he had meant the opposite of what he had said. The opposite of what he originally said is also false. Antoine Fourriere and I are neither polar opposites, nor were we expressing the very same design philosophies. George's willingness to shift from one false claim to the opposite false claim reveals his lack of interest in serious discussion. In the many years that George Duke has been on this site, I have never had a serious discussion with him. Even when I've expressed agreement with what he has said, he has simply changed his tune and started saying something else. I have come to the conclusion that George is not trying to express ideas but is trying to provoke reactions. And when he's not trying to provoke reactions, he is usually rambling incoherently. Overall, his comments add no value to this site, and several detract from the experience of using this site. Even his least offensive posts are mere clutter and a waste of time to read. For these reasons, I consider it best to permanently ban George Duke from this site.
