I will assume that this thread has to do with discussing what 'The Next
Chess' is. I am of the belief unless we develop a common lexicon for
terminology we can use when talking to one another, and a common taxonomy
used to discuss elements, the idea if a 'Next Chess' is never going to
happen. Note the lexicon and taxonomy don't need to be enforced set of
standards, but a tool used so people know what the heck everyone is
talking about.
Anyhow, that is my take. I believe focus needs to be there. Outside of
that, you will likely find a stumbling method of going from one fad to
another that will end up fragmenting the community of players.
Whether it be 'The Next Chess', 'Chess of Tomorrow', or whatever else
will fit into IAGO Chess, having common points of reference will be
needed. Pretty much it is making oneself more conscious of what exactly
is going on in the chess variant community today.
