I created the game for the same considerations you mentioned. The Chess army is too powerful for a game with Shogi-style drops. It especially wreaks havok when a player can drop a Queen. I thought a game with Chessgi rules would work better with weaker pieces. I hope this game will appeal to fans of Chessgi and to people who have been dissatisfied with Chessgi.
