Canvasser - The name is the only one currently used for this piece in a variant. I accept your criticism and welcome better suggestions. Of your suggestions, Notre Dame has the problem of being a cathedral and so suggesting the Bishop move. Oddly it was not that name that rang bells for me but Winnebago, which has similar connotations to the Caravan that I suggested for a piece in my article When Beasts Collide - one which is unlikely to be widely used and will probably never have its own Piececlopedia entry. Caravan doubly fits as it can mean a procession of camels as well as vehicles of various ages, and even shares many of Canvasser's letters! If I can find an alternative naming system for the weaker piece and its kin, with which I am not entirely satisfied, I would consider transferring Caravan to the piece on this page. The only question then would be of which ffen image would most suit it. A name that really captures my imagination will replace Canvasser throughout my variants with full credit to the person suggesting or inspiring it. <p>I am still relatively new to this and making the odd error - but promptly fixing them when notified. Where I gave too little prominence to usages earlier than my own, I now realise the potential of this to give offence and have corrected this faux pas as well. I do not know how to do multiple references in the style of the existing e.g. Chancellor/Marshal pointing to the same page. Advice on how to do them would be a positive and useful contribution.
