I had the long board in mind for this CV only because of there being 4 card suits in a standard (French) card deck, and the board's 13 ranks equally naturally matched such a card deck's ranks. Didn't think of a way to make a different shaped board that could equally conveniently use 52 cards, plus a Joker or two if that'd help, but if another way works I'd prefer it to become its own variant, and still have this one existing - the more the merrier, if they all turn out to work in practice. Who knows, maybe a Roulette Wheel-themed CV is also possible, as a separate idea?! The 4 files x 13 ranks also reminded me of Circular Chess' 4x16 board a bit, which helped me tentatively estimate the piece values (rightly or wrongly).

Around the time when I made this CV, I was told Game Courier did not support the use of cards (or dice, perhaps?), but Bob G's latest initiative to use some sort of card deck has got me wondering if it won't be long before support for the use of a standard card deck arrives for Game Courier usage.
