White forcing black to react from move 1 can give White a HUGE advantage in the game. An example of this, since White's advantage in Atomic Chess (which is played quite regularly in FICS,) is very well established that you are not required to give a rematch if you win with black!! 2. However, this factor didn't prevent Atomic Chess from being one of the most fun playable chess variants.
