There may be some who have developed alternate point systems for chess that are more elaborate and justified. I'd appreciate if anyone wants to throw those down here too, though I think mine may have a simplicity and merit all its own. Then again, it's very possible that someone else has proposed the exact same point system. Any help here will be appreciated!
