Traded Places ChessA Zillions-of-Games file
. An enemy piece is moved to your attacking piece's beginning position during its capturing move.

By Ken Franklin.

Notes

Traded Places Chess (Jun '06) is a 8x8 variant where instead of piece capturing, an enemy piece is moved to your attacking piece's beginning position during its capturing move. However there is one actual capturing move remaining from normal chess: En Passant. Technically, a King or Rook's eligibility for castling is unaffected by being traded (or captured) during an opponent's move. Such an occurrence could be remedied by being returned to an eligible starting postion by an opponent's subsequent trading move re-effecting that piece as long as that same King or Rook wasn't ever also moved by its owner. A Knightmate subvariant is included, switching the Knights with the King.
