I have not attempted to download the files, I think Fergus can answer you what´s happening, he coded the ZRF´s. In every case, my files work well. If the problems persist, I can send you it, if you want; e-mail me if you can´t find a solution. Have you Windows XP installed in your computer?. Some Zillions files don´t work properly in WXP, but I don´t know why, the management of images seem to observe some incompatibilities, and I´m unable to figure what´s going on.

I just downloaded and successfully unzipped the file with PowerArchiver. There might have been an error in your downloading of the file that corrupted your copy, or you might need to try a different unzipping program. As a check for the first possibility, look at the exact byte size of the file in its properties window. It should be exactly 126,772 bytes in size. Note that the properties window will also show you how many bytes are used. I assume this is how much space it is taking up on your harddrive, which may vary locally. The byte size appears in parentheses before the number of bytes used. At least this is how it appears in Windows 95.

yes, sorry, as soon as i sent the last comment on i discovered that i was having the same problem with every zrf zip i downloaded, so it must've been a problem on my end. i never did figure out what it was, but restarting the computer solved it, so no worries.

I too had problems with the ZIP file. I downloaded it several times, and could not open the game. At least the files ShogiBrd.bmp and King.bmp in the flip directory show just a black screen on the downloaded file. Can someone email me a good ZIP file to [email protected]? Thanks.

There are some problems with the Images and Windows XP, I don´t know if it happens with other Windows versions, but in Windows 95 and 98 the ZRF's are running fine. Fergus Duniho has said he is going to make some corrections in the images, I´m not very clear about the technical reasons for the bad lecture of the images with XP, but I have seen the incompatibility of the images wuth this Windows version.

Here's what I plan to do. I am going to undo the RLE compression of the RLE compressed images, add some new piece sets, and bundle my ZRFs for Shogi, Mortal Shogi, and Kamikaze Mortal Shogi into a single zip file. That way, I will reduce the duplication of graphic images between zip files.

I found out that the bmp format here can not be readed well under Win XP.

After simply opening and resaving the images with Irfanview the games are
running well. BTW I noticed after resaving the images was becoming smaller
in file size with the exception of the board.
