Nice try, but it would be better to add your Siege rules to one of the many three-Bishop hexagonal games, or modify your back rank to RNBQBKBNR. In your 8-piece array both bishops are bound to the same colour, while in your 9-piece array one is bound to the same colour as the Pope and one colour is still not covered by any colourbound piece.
