Has anyone else found that pages of theirs from before the post-your-own era are increasingly being left out of date? There of mine stand out, despite attempts to update. Bachelor Kamil has the minor error of C and c being used where I should have had (Camel) and (camel). The Buffalo still mentions the no-longer-existing Power Chaturanga, and as part of the piececlopedia it should be kept up to date. Finally subvariants at the end of Honeycomb Chess still refer to naming conventions that have been superseded. In each case I have either given the editors permission to correct, or sent a correction to the official address for editors, or both, and nothing has happened. It would be interesting to know if anyone else is waiting for an update, or any of the editors plan to start on them, or even if a facility is to be set up for contributors to update this older kind of page themselves.

Indeed, I know exactly what you mean. Not only have I seen old pages
needing updates or corrections, but some contributors have issue with
editing pages that were published by staff, for example Adrian King's
Scirocco.

Mea Culpa. I have been terrible about processing email for the past few
months. I plan to start catching up soon. Apologies to all who have written
in and have not received any response. IMO 'old style' pages that need
updating should be converted to member submitted pages. I am not aware of
issues with updating the newer member submitted pages. Perhaps they've
been emailed to me and are sitting in my in-box right now. In any case, I
will be getting to the email soon. I promise. It's one of my many unspoken
(until now) new years resolutions.

By the way, if any one out there is interested in assisting with the site
as a volunteer, please let me know. This site runs on pure volunteerism. I
pay for the hosting and domain names, although this gets supplemented with
income from ads (another aspect I have been neglecting).

Let me wish all our readers, our active community of commenters, our Game
Courier players, our designers and authors, and our volunteers a very Happy
and Healthy New Year. We are a small community, but active and energetic. I
am glad this site can provide a focal point for discussion, design,
creative expression, exploration and playing.

Me, too. For various reasons, I haven't always been as diligent as I could
have been. It would be nice if a volunteer came with a more ... um, modern
appreciation of technology - I keep my college slide rule under an abacus
on my encyclopedia bookshelves. For the safety of the site, I stick to the
simple stuff. :) I've had far too many 'whoops'es that destroyed things
I was working on to put myself in the position of trying to tell someone I
just erased their masterpiece. But I enjoy being the junior editor; it's
been quite interesting. I've gotten to meet a lot of people and see, even
get involved in, a larger number of games than I ever would have as a
member only. It's been very rewarding for me, even if my tenure hasn't
always been that good for others. And the hours are flexible.

So are the comments on Bachelor Kamil and the Buffalo satisfactory or would
you prefer a full submission, and if so to what address? Can you find the
updated file for Honeycomb Chess or should I send that again, and if so
again to what address?
