Well darn! I designed a similar game with the exact same motivation of better equalizing diagonals with orthogonals, and now I find someone beat me to the punch. Oh well. Must be a great idea!

I don't know how powerful the bishops are in these game but is still colorbound

Interesting board shape. I'm currently not absolutely sure that bishops are quite as strong as rooks, on average.
