David, before you correct just see emails :) (in case you see this first)
Excellent for the new images. But it would be nice to see the alpha-numeric codes by these pieces so, for example, if one wanted to use a 'Hero' he [or she] could go to edit their applicable pre-set and simply add the code to the desired square. Without the code designators board setups will be a bit more dificult. Or, is there an easy way to get these codes that I am unaware of? If so, what is it? Many thanks.

So the standard knight is n or N, and this is typed into the appropriate spot in the preset editor. The hero used in Lemurian Shatranj would be: [_JG_ldw] or [_JG_LDW] Typing this in the appropriate spot will put the hero where you want on the board. My son looked it up in the Game Courier instructions.

Joe & Christine - Thanks for the info. I know haw to use the brackets for pre-set pieces --- but I was not (am not) sure how to find all the piece designators such as your [_JG_ldw] or [_JG_LDW] without finding a game that currently uses them. So if we have, for example, a Diagonal Cyclops Evaporator piece - but it is not currently in a game, it is simply available... how would we find out its identifier code? The link Christine provided helps a lot.

yes it would be good to have it listed or something, i mean a page, not within a game, that shows all graphics
Game Courier will show you the full piece set you are using unless your preset has the 'Exclude pieces not in game' option checked. If you're not seeing the full set, uncheck this option and click 'Update' in Edit mode.

Joe, expansion set 4 has that graphic, the one released a few weeks ago, it is called 'lightningwarmachine' :))

What do all of the different Shogi-based pieces do? And why do they have those names?
I believe the Shogi pieces move as the dots surrounding them indicate (e.g. Tile General steps one square diagonal forward or orthogonal backward).
