When you sign up, email is sent immediately. But thanks to some very strict measures that some email providers take to reduce spam, email from this site doesn't always get through. Check your spam folder, and if you still can't find any email, you may delete your new account and try signing up again with an email address from a different email provider.

I'm in the same situation.  My username is as shown (kespethdude).  I want to delete it and try to reregister it using my yahoo account as the gmail thing has still not been fixed.  The delete button doesn't work for me either.

The link to the script was missing from the Delete It button. I have now put it back.

Since you're already registered, you could try changing your email address instead of deleting your account and signing up for it again.

Not recieving the email for the password, why is that?

@softburritoz: Your personal information page has you registered 4/19, but your comment dated 4/18.  Does that mean your problem is resolved (or maybe the dates are relative to different time zones)?

We've had some difficulties getting emails sent to certain domains in the past; have you checked your spam box?

Nor can I ?! And I cannot delete so I can’t use the address?!

Hey, this is softburritoz, I commented below about not recieving the email password, and I am still not receiving it, I couldn't delete that other account because after a few days it wouldn't let me because I wasn't claimed as the owner anymore. Any reason why the password email isn't sending?

Hello, I am trying to register an account under the name NapoleonicSauron but for some reason the confirmation emails are not being sent to my email address and I cannot figure out the problem.  Thanks  -Erick

The problem is probably that your email address is not receiving email from us, or it is going into your spam folder. If you can't find the email in your spam folder, try a different email address.

I have been unable to log in using the same credentials that worked three days ago. The loging page demends I enable cookies and I have done so for chessvariants.com (my browser is Firefox v72.0.2). But the login page fails to detect that I have done so, and won't let me log in. The login page also complains my adblocker, failing to detect that I have whitelisted this site (Adblocker Ultimate). Other pages of the CVP correctly detect this and don't complain about the ad blocker. Please help asap. I don't know if this is relevant, but my email address on record is a gmail address.

Odd, I can't log in from this login page either, but I can log in through the menu on other pages.  Trying to log in from this page (/login/login.php) takes me to /login/cvplogin.php which hangs.

I don't receive a cookies message on this page, but I can confirm the same adblocker message behavior.

gmail addresses have had problems receiving emails from us, but that shouldn't affect your login, especially not abruptly like this.

The log in for comments https://www.chessvariants.com/index/commentonitem.php?itemid=Login also rejects my credentials with the same cookie error. All other pages refer me to the original login page. Firefox has chessvariant.com listed as an allowed site to accept cookies from, and the current version of Firefox wouldn't let me allow cookies from the whole net, even if I wanted to, just whitelist specific sites.

 I was able to sign in using Microsoft Edge with blanet permission to accept all cookie anywhere (the default for Edge).

I just logged in on this page using the same version of Firefox. Maybe one of the extensions you're running is affecting something.

I don't use that ad blocker, but as a test, I just disabled uBlock Origin for this site, and I still got the adblocker detected message instead of an ad. In case it was a caching issue, I tried reloading with "Reload Skip Cache", but it didn't help. Looking over my extensions, I don't have any other ad blockers.

Other pages of the CVP correctly detect this and don't complain about the ad blocker.

Yes, I'm getting the same behavior. Maybe there is a bug in this page specifically. But I haven't been able to figure out what it is.

This page had <BASE HREF="http://www.chessvariants.org/login/login.php"> in the head part, and I just changed .org to .com.

Still having the same issue. After a failed login, I checked Manage Data under Cookies and Site Data in my Firefox options, and cookies from a total of five cookies from https://www.chessvariants.com dated about a minute ago were present. Firefox accepted the cookies but your page failed to recognize that fact. The Ad Blocker issue has been resolved.

Thanks for following up.  I checked with Firefox (v66), removing cookies and then logging in, and didn't have a problem.  The cookie whose presence determines that message (I think) is cvpuser, which ought to get populated when you first try to log in.  Is that one of the five that got stored for you?

I'm currently installing a sqlite reader to check the Firefox cookies file. The file isn't very human readable

The cvpuser cookie is not present but __cfduid, __gads, PHPSESSID, __atuvc, and __atuvs are.

It suddenly started working :)
