White (to move) can still force mate with King and Queen against King in most of these variants.
SOMETIMES MATES: Max-distance-queen chess, and Deposable queen (Cinderella? Were-Queen?).
NEVER MATES: Virgin chess, Negative relay queen chess, Nice-queen chess, also this bare king endgame cannot happen in Revive-queen chess.
I think in Virgin Chess although you can't win with K+Q against K, you can win with K+Q against K+anything (even Q). Or maybe it's only possible if the opponent cooperates, I'm not sure.
How about a Breath-recovering Queen - a player cannot move the same Queen in two successive moves of theirs? Speciying 'same' is to cope with promotion.
Blue Queen Chess: A third queen, painted blue (or otherwise uniquely marked), starts on one of the central squares, and can be moved by whichever player has the move. According to the novel in which I first heard of this, it is also possible to capture the blue queen. Finally, confirmation that the game was not a fiction of the novel: http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/006433.html
The Blue Queen belongs to both parties and each can move her. Blue Queen updates: http://www.chessvariants.org/index/displaycomment.php?commentid=17387. Jeremy Good and I developed improvements in old Blue Queen cvs year 2007 in discussion at ChessboardMath. Since the thread has 66 comments, unlike all the others of the same prefix ''ChessboardMath-'' under 25, the comments are isolated. (New threads may allow over-25 access now.) Http://www.chessvariants.org/index/displaycomment.php?commentid=17416. Still other old comments on Blue Queen are by Good. Blue Queen cvs should become own article the way Baseball Chess went from comments to article. Blue Queen would also fit into this Variants with Queens.

Deposable queen (Cinderella? Were-Queen?): If a promoted Queen crosses or lands on its side's second rank, it turns back into a pawn.
