here is a link to the missing game of janus chess, it appears you lost on time, you must have had the time controls set too fast http://play.chessvariants.org/pbm/play.php?game=Janus+Chess&log=dankelly-cvgameroom-2006-264-954
Thanks for the Info. Can anyone find Pete Cox's email address, he started a game with me but he still has to make the first move. Fergus, can u help with this, this is the second time this has happened to me with a new player. PETE COX, if you see this plz return to our game and make your first move
I just noticed a time discrepancy in the Game Courier 'time remaining' column for the tournament game of Templar Gary Gifford and I are playing. My actual time left is 18 days, yet GC now shows 28 days, though it was correct before today. We've obviously got a bug in Game Courier, a very minor but nasty one that can cause people to lose games by default. Everyone playing timed games should be aware of this bug, and look at their games for time remaining, not rely on GC's time remaining feature.
The 'extra ten days bug' shows up from time to time. WARNING: recently some game moves have not resulted in an email being sent out. For example, Gary Gifford's move 17 hours ago in our game and my move 24 hours ago:
'Your move has been logged.
Failed to send email to abdulrahmansibahi---. try again later.'
The move notification system seems to be dead. I am getting no notification that it's my turn in any active games, tournament or otherwise, so I assume no one else is, either. This could cause problems for anyone who depends on email for game turns. For example, Juan Rodriguez is halfway to timing out on a 3 week turn in our game of Chieftain. And while I like winning, the point is to actually play some of these games. Can anything be done, other than frequently posting: CHECK THE GAME COURIER LOGS FOR YOUR ACTIVE GAMES - IT'S PROBABLY YOUR TURN!
George Duke's comment reminded me some facts I dug up for the old 'Next Tournament' thread.
I ran a search on 2007-05-28 for [Finished] games that started in the calendar year 2006. Zero games of Fischer Random Chess (one game had started and finished in 2007). Shogi = 32, (FIDE) Chess = 24, Chinese Chess = 19, Pocket Mutation Chess = 16, Grand Chess = 6. These totals include games from the Chess-Xianqgi-Shogi Tournament #1. A *Shatranj* search turned up 31 games including the word 'Shatranj', mostly played by the usual suspects.
